The new low-cost carrier Fly2Galicia plans to begin flights from Santiago–Rosalia de Castro Airport on December 1, 2026. Initially, passengers will be offered eight direct routes, including flights to Milan, Brussels, Prague, Munich, and Venice. Tickets are already on sale: international flights start at approximately €41 one way.

The New Low-Cost Carrier Fly2Galicia: What We Know So Far

Fly2Galicia will enter the European market in late 2026 and will focus on flights from Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. The first flights are scheduled for December 1, 2026, and the initial route network will cover eight destinations in Spain and other European countries.

Santiago–Rosalia de Castro Airport will serve as the main hub. In the initial phase, Fly2Galicia will offer domestic flights to Alicante, Granada, and Zaragoza, as well as international connections to Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Italy.

At the same time, Fly2Galicia has an important distinction: the company will not operate its first flights with its own aircraft. According to Euronews, the flights will be operated by another European airline, whose name had not yet been announced as of August 18. Therefore, at this stage, Fly2Galicia is effectively acting as a brand under which tickets are sold and a new route network is being developed.

An expansion is already planned for February 2027. At that time, the carrier plans to establish a permanent base at Santiago Airport and add new domestic routes, including to Málaga, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura.

Where will Fly2Galicia fly?

Initially, Fly2Galicia plans to operate flights from Santiago de Compostela to eight cities. Three routes will be domestic, while five others will connect Galicia with other European countries. A total of 17 flights per week have been announced.

The route network will include:

- Alicante, Spain

- Granada, Spain

- Zaragoza, Spain

- Brussels, Belgium

- Prague, Czech Republic

- Munich, Germany

- Venice, Italy

- Milan, Italy

The first flight will be Santiago de Compostela–Zaragoza, scheduled for December 1. Two more international routes are set to launch on the same day, and the remaining routes will be introduced during the carrier’s first week of operation.

Thus, Fly2Galicia is focusing not on a large-scale network, but on direct connections between Galicia and major European tourist and business hubs, where the selection of direct flights from Santiago is currently limited.

How much do Fly2Galicia tickets cost?

Tickets for Fly2Galicia’s first flights are already on sale, with the lowest fares starting at approximately €40 one-way. Prices vary depending on the destination and travel dates.

At the time of the launch, Euronews reported the following prices:

1. Milan — Santiago de Compostela — starting at €41

2. Brussels — Santiago de Compostela — starting at €51

3. Prague — Santiago de Compostela — starting at €51

4. Venice — Santiago de Compostela — starting at €51

5. Munich — Santiago de Compostela — starting at €71

These are starting fares, so the price may be higher when booking a specific flight, depending on demand and seat availability. At the same time, the route from Milan is currently the cheapest among the international destinations already on sale.

When will Fly2Galicia begin flights and how will it expand its network?

Fly2Galicia’s first flights are scheduled for December 1, 2026, from Santiago–Rosalia de Castro Airport. In the initial phase, the carrier will operate under a model in which the flights will actually be operated by another European airline, whose name has not yet been disclosed. The next phase of development is scheduled for February 2027.

Fly2Galicia intends to open a permanent base in Santiago de Compostela and expand its domestic network with flights to:

- Málaga

- Tenerife

- Gran Canaria

- Fuerteventura

- Zaragoza

The launch of the new carrier will also increase competition at the Santiago airport. In December 2026, Wizz Air plans to launch new flights from there to Rome and Warsaw, so the selection of direct budget routes from Galicia will gradually grow.

Why might Santiago de Compostela become more attractive to tourists?
